B.Eng. Materials Engineering / Nanyang Technological University (2014)
My current research direction is towards developing understanding of structure-mechanics relationships in biological materials, with a current emphasis in the swell egg shark case.
I graduated from Nanyang Technological University in 2014 with a Bachelors in Materials Engineering. Looking at nature's ingenious designs in functional materials and surfaces from a perspective of a materials scientist, I believe that biology has much more to offer for us to emulate and to learn from. My research background includes bio-inspired topographical and chemical (surface initiated ATRP) surface modifications for biomedical and anti-fouling applications and also recombinant engineering of mechanically robust squid-inspired suckerin proteins.
