Ph.D. Candidate, 3rd year / Materials
B.S. Biomedical Engineering / Texas A&M (2017)
I graduated from Texas A&M University in 2017 with a B.S. in Biomedical Engineering and concentration in Biomaterials. During my time there, I worked under Dr. Melissa Grunlan to develop surface-modifying additives for silicone to improve safety for blood-contacting devices. My three years of research gave me experience extending from polymer synthesis and characterization to designing and conducting in vitro protein, serum, and blood studies. Outside of the lab I enjoy long-distance running, hiking, and backpacking, as well as playing/performing on my flute and piccolo.
