Control of Thermo and Electrical Transport in
Organic and Composite Materials through
Molecular and Nanoscale Structure

 

Bio and research interests:

I received my PhD in Chemical Engineering from Purdue University. My PhD study is focused on the synthesis and process of advanced nanostructured materials for application in thermoelectric energy conversion under the supervision of Prof. Yue Wu. Thermoelectricity is a unique technique that directly converts thermal energy into electricity. One emerging application is to generate electricity from body heat which requires flexible thermoelectric materials. Currently, my research involves the rational design, synthesis and process of conjugated polymer and nanocomposite materials that possess many advantages including flexibility, solution processibility and cost-efficiency. My goal is to understand how the molecular and nanoscale structure influence thermal and electrical transport and achieve optimized thermoelectric properties in those materials. In my free time I enjoy playing badminton and soccer and watching sports and movies.
