Research/Bio:

Originally from Vancouver, I finished my B.Sc at the University of British Columbia and moved to Toronto to begin my Ph.D. under Dwight Seferos at the University of Toronto. In my doctoral research, I studied how size and shape affected the molecular sensing capabilities of metal nanoparticles. Aided by computational chemistry, I also studied how catalyst electronics affected the chain growth synthesis of conjugated polymers, and used these findings to synthesize p-n block copolymers. My current research interests are studying the thermodynamic transitions and mesophase structure of donor acceptor copolymers, and developing polymer/inorganic composites for thermoelectrics. When not in the lab, I enjoy biking, camping, cooking, and ice-hockey.
